Inaugurated in 1951, this is reportedly the first Ashram established by Baba Neeb Karori Maharaj. Pran Patishtha of a small murti of hanuman ji was done on 15 July 1952 by Baba Neeb Karori Maharaj and He said miniature hanuman ji would shoulder the responsibility for a great task ahead. The second seven foot high murti of hanuman ji was made by mason named makhan and consecrated on 16 June 1953. Later on small temples were built near hanuman temple.
This extensive ridge-top temple has exquisite views on a clear day.
Hanumanghari temple is about 2 km from Nainital. It’s a nice walk if the skies are clear. If it’s raining you can go by car. Gardening and flowering are unique in this ashram. As it is situated on a high view of Naini Lake and Nainital city is unique from here.
There is a conveniently located sweet shop just outside the gate so you can purchase your prasad.
